August '25 Updates

I've been working on adding more features to Sublime Feed as I find myself using it more and more — I know, that sounds silly. Yet here I am reading more and enjoying life as a user. So let's get started on what I worked on. OPML ImportThe missing link! You can now import your OPML exports straight into the Sublime Feed and it will do the rest for you. • 🚀 In addition to customising your reader view, you can now also page through posts at the bottom of the page for a given feed. Here is a video: • 🚀 Also new is the ability to show a special reader view for your timeline for new items that have come through. Clicking on the reader button will automatically take you to the first new post since the last time you've visited (anything showing above your marker). Page through as you read. Bliss.

Customise reader view & feed fetching

Today I worked on allowing you to customise your reader view a little more beyond just fonts. You see I like to have my computer in dark mode but prefer reading on lighter texture, with a slightly larger font. So now you can do exactly that, including a few more themes that should serve well. • 📖 Added 3 "system" based reader fonts for you to choose from. System Serif, System Sans Serif, and System Mono. They'll work across different platforms also as it uses the built in system fonts for various systems. • 💨 Fixed an issue where loading your feed was slow due to processing images on the fly. This functionality has now been removed so that images load async without all the extra background stuff that was causing things to just go so slow. Sorry about that.

• 🚀 You can now choose your own reader font with a new setting in your account page. Just head on over to Reader Font and select the one that works for you. You've got a little preview that updates as you select a font. If one is missing that you'd like, please let me know.

• 🐛👾 Fixed an issue where the subscription page could load slowly because it was trying to re-generate the images for the feeds if you haven't visited in a while.

• 🧹 Tweaked the way the dates look on posts and reader view. Nothing too exciting.

• 🐛👾 Fixed an issue where feeds that report back as a normal "HTML" page, but actually contained an RSS feed, didn't get recognised (which should be the correct behaviour). Well, no more — now even those devious hidden feeds should make their way. • 🐛👾 Fixed an issue where posts on some feeds that didn't have "date_published" data wouldn't show any date and would all show at once at the top of your feed. It'll now fallback to using the date the post was added on the server if it can't find the data.

Soft launch

I've decided to just get on with it and finally release Sublime Feed. Hopefully for some of you it will stick and you will find a more calmer approach to reading your feeds.
